... I did the dinner and it was very impressive in every way. I had the tasting menu which had an uncounted number of courses of every flavor, texture and color one could imagine. ... south we have travelled before by road so it should be interesting. Second stop will be St. Jean de-Luz close to the Spanish border and the Pyrennes Atlantiques. Then two stops in Spain staying longer in Caceres for two nights as it is appparently an interesting medieval city.

... aquarium. It was pretty cool inside. The first floor is like an aquarium but when you go upstairs, it is like a museum and then further upstairs it is like a aquarium again. We walked through the whole thing and then went back outside. We decided that we would stop at a restaurant we'd passed on the way that advertised mussels and fries for 9.50 euros and a paella place. We got two orders of mussels and one of paella to go and ate it back at the hotel. It was sooooooo delicious!

We left Paulliac and decided to drive south via the last of the wine regions Pessac in the south. They make similar wines to the ones in the north west as they are on the same river bank of the Garonne but with probably a little less Cabernet Sauvignon probably 50 % blended with the same grapes as the other areas do. We spent the morning packing for our transition to Biarritz. By this time, we had it down. Then we drove into town for check out the festival. Cute!! Local cheeses, local sausages, and lots of local people. We enjoyed the sheep dog demonstration as well as the sheep shearing show. Tom cried at the sheepdog ...
