The hostel I was staying at was brilliant, within two minutes you were on a semi secluded beach, or on a walking track. There were two Australian guys staying there who loved to cook on the BBQ, and I was more than happy to be a willing BBQ eater! One day four of us decided to go on an adventure and hire kayaks to row up the river to the lagoon. We had also heard of a lagoon side cafe that did really good ...

Tradition in Brazil for New Years is to wear all white with colour specific ...

Once we had arrived we set off to the public bus terminal to get a connecting bus to the other side of the island. We were pretty spent after the long bus ride and were finding it increasingly difficult to get any info as we both know about 4 words in Portugese! Eventually we where able to get on the right bus and set off to Barra Do Lagoa where our hostel was on the eastern ...
