... streets filled with small markets down the western end of the main beach. After a while we went and sat under some of the Palm trees outside the Music festival building and drank a large bottle of fresh juice we had purchased. Cannes, home to the annual film fest, where I hope to be a participant one day. There was great shopping here, not unexpectedly, streets lined with shops. I found the prices here to be higher than both Nice and Monte Carlo, and I heard they go up during the various festivals they have during the year. ... to find over 200 euro for places like Best Western.... Ended up in a charming little place run by Mohammed in city centre, as we were tired and wanted a shower and a rest. At 90 euro per night seemed like a reasonable place, until later a night when other guests arrive and we realise the walls are paper thin.... Didn't be much sleep that night, and after a quick look around at Nice next morning we moved on to Marseille to change trains to our ultimate destination ...
