I arrived late last night, at the new airport in Bangkok. It is enormous, and very sterile looking, but that means clean, which isn't a bad thing. After approximately 24 hours of travel (!), we have finally arrived in Bangkok! Steve's strategy? To sleep whenever he felt the urge. Laura's? To NOT sleep until we got here, which actually worked. Well, we did Bangkok yesterday, and it was great! Tun from the hotel took us around the city to the Grand Palace and a museum that houses royal pieces like outfits, swords, and money from the dynasties. It was amazing! We also took a tour of the house that King Rama V built and lived in at the turn of the 20th century. It reminded us of a Biltmore tour (except without shoes on!). hey my lovers (miss u all already) thailand is hot and sweaty. we arrived last night at 10.45. then got a transfer to our 2 storey hotel room which was amazing.sleeping was hard to do til about 2am mainly due to excitement we finally dozed off at 2. woke up today and went down for brekky,the weirdest one i have had the egg powdered and the sasuages were yellow but taste good! spemt the day at khaosan road, taxi drivers drive at 130 and they dont have dam seatbelts so scary! did some fun shopp...

We saw a temple in Bangkok during the day, very grand with a golden statue inside. I glimpsed it for a second before the doors shut. After that we picked up our bags and caught the bus to the airport. There were two buses we had to get but we managed to make the change over quite easily. We got to the airport with plenty of time to spare and there were no problems checking in. We were on our way to Australia!
