... thought that meant it was the only place females could go. I stepped up to it, and I was immediately tsked at by the man and told to come down from there. I'm still not sure if it's because I flat out wasn't supposed to go there or if it was because of my shoes. I tried to mime taking off my shoes, but he just gestured for me to get down.)

... Not that it's seedy, mind, it's just clear that it used to be a glamorous hotel and now isn't. My room is very big and has a delightful view of the parking lot, where there were some military police milling about when we first arrived.

Today I went on a really nice walk down to the River Yantra and the museum church of St Peter & St Paul. It was a day off and was such a lovely spring day, I simply had to get out and about. As I stepped out of my flat I noticed that since only last Sunday the amount of blossom on the almond tree had noticeably increased. The scent of flowers and other plants filled the air as I walked down the road towards the Tsarevets plaza.

I bought some vegetables at a fruit and veg market on Wednesday; although I hadn't intended to get quite so many, I ended up with a sackful of red peppers!
