Great Location,Will Go Back!!

Cleanliness is the most important thing for us and the hotel WAS clean. We stayed in a standard room and the room was clean, cozy and nice. The bathroom was clean and nice , too. If your shower takes more than 5-10 minutes, be sure to turn on the water heater an hour before taking a shower, otherwise 15 minutes before would do fine.

Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The location was great! Walking distance to Al-Ghurair Shopping Mall,Spinney's Supermarket, Marks & Spencer, many drugstores and restaurants. Taxi to City Center Mall would cost between 12 to 15 DHs. (15 if you went by hotel cab)

Hotel shuttles available daily to the beach (9a.m.-12) and to City Center Shopping Mall (5p.m.)

The tour manager was helpful and friendly and got us an excellent Desert Safari Tour.

Breakfast was OK. The swimming pool was small but clean, the gym was nice.

We will definitely go back to this hotel and I would recommend it to anyone who looks for cleanliness plus lots of shopping!:)

Guter Service

Wir buchten unsere Reise nach Dubai im November '06 über das Reisebüro "Arabian Adventures" und sollten im Holiday Inn übernachten. Man musste uns jedoch ins Flora Grand Hotel umbuchen. Erst waren wir ziemlich enttäuscht, weil wir nicht bekamen, was wir gebucht hatten, bei unserer Ankunft änderten wir jedoch unsere Meinung. Kein riesiges Hotel. Ein bisschen kompakt, aber der Service war sehr gut. Wir wurden sehr schnell angemeldet und bekamen sogar ein Willkommensgetränk. Unser Zimmer mit 3 Doppelbetten für uns 3 war groß. Das Bad war groß und sauber. Wir bekamen jedes Mal, wenn wir das Hotel verließen, frische Handtücher. Der Wellnessbereich des Hotels ist ein Muss!! Es gibt im Hotel auch einen Ausflugsschalter im Hotel. Man sollte auf jeden Fall die Jeep-Safari in der Wüste machen, die Stadttour kann man sich hingegen sparen, weil wir immer an allem vorbei fuhren und nicht einmal die Souks zu sehen bekamen, die angeblich DIE Attraktion von Dubai sind. Das Essen im indischen Lokal war super. Die Auswahl beim Frühstücksbüfett war ausreichend und man bekommt gute kontinentale Speisen. Neben dem Hotel ist sogar ein Supermarkt, damit man sich versorgen kann. Man bekommt immer Taxis. Das Flora Grand ist jeden Euro wert!!!

Good service

We had booked to stay at Holiday Inn UAE during our trip to Dubai in Nov'06 with the "Arabian Adventures" travel agency. However, they had to substitute us with Flora Grand Hotel. At first we were quite disappointed cos we were not getting what we booked for, however, upon checking in, we changed our mind. Not an enormous hotel. Something compact but the service was very good. We checked in very fast, and even got a welcome drink.Our room was big with 3 double beds for 3 of us. The bathroom big and clean. We had fresh supply of towels every time we left the hotel. The spa in the hotel is a must try!! There is a travel desk in the hotel too. Definitely go for the 4WD desert safari, but never take the City Tour, cos the guy always drove past everything and we didn't even get to see the souks, which are supposedly the attractions in Dubai. The indian restaurant served great food. As for the buffet breakfast, the range was sufficient and you can get good continental food. There is even a supermarket just next door to the hotel, to get your supplies. Cabs are always available. Flora Grand is worth every dollar you spend!!!

Necesitaba alojarme en Dubai una noche después de visitar a unos amigos en Abu Dhabi. El personal de recepción me pareció bastante amable y el servicio de habitaciones rápido. La habitación era muy grande para una persona y era bastante tranquila.

La única cosa que criticaría un poco es el tour que reservé en el hotel. El guía turístico no informaba mucho (en especial sobre la Historia) y tan sólo nos llevó a un par de centros comerciales y a un sitio donde comprar arte islámico además de enseñarnos el famoso hotel de 7 estrellas. Íbamos en un 4x4 bastante abarrotado. En realidad creo que era un taxi ya que nuestra vuelta al hotel se retrasó porque teníamos que recoger a otras dos personas que no tenían nada que ver.

A lo mejor es que en Dubai no hay nada más, pero me sentí que las 30 libras que me costó fue un poco excesivo para una excursión que parecía poner de relieve tan sólo lo horrible que es el tráfico de Dubai y que no te informaba de nada útil. Habría sido mejor pasar ese tiempo tomando el sol en la terraza, pequeña pero bonita, que hay en la azotea del edificio.

Did the job

Needed to stay in Dubai for one night having visited friends in Abu Dhabi. I found the reception staff fairly friendly and room service prompt. The room was very big for one person and fairly quiet.

The one thing I would criticise slightly was the tour I took booked through the hotel. The tour guide didn't give much information (particularly historical) and just took us to a couple of malls and a place to buy islamic art as well as showing us the famous 7 star hotel. We travelled in a rather cramped 4x4. I think it was really just a taxi as our return to the hotel was delayed by picking up two other random people

Maybe there is no more to Dubai than this but I felt that the £30 fee was rather steep for this trip which seemed to highlight mainly how bad the traffic is in dubai and didn't give any useful info. The time might have been better spent sunbathing on the small but pretty terrace on the top of the building.

Das Flora Grand war wirklich gut

Ein wirklich gutes Hotel in Citylage, nicht direkt an der Hauptstraße, daher auch ruhig. Vieles vom Hotel aus zu Fuß zu erreichen, Hotelgarage für Mietwagen steht zur Verfügung. Zimmer war gut eingerichtet, großzügig und sauber, machte qualitativ einen hochwertigen Eindruck. Service sehr freundlich. Frühstück war ok, kein Alkohol im Hotel, sorgt aber auch für eine gewisse Ruhe. Pool auf dem Dach mit Liegemöglichkeiten, Fitnesscenter, freundliches Personal. Als Cityhotel und Ausgangspunkt für eigene Unternehmungen ein ideales Hotel mit sehr gutem Preisleistungsverhältnis bei Buchung in Kombination mit Flug.

A little disappointed

I was a little disappointed at this hotel - especially as it was supposed to be four star.

The room was quite small and as it had a king size bed in it the whole room was cluttered and you had to squeeze round everything - you couldn't get to the window as there were 2 chairs and a table in front of it. The bathroom was huge - but it was all room. With better planning the bathroom could have been made smaller and the room bigger.

It was also quite noisy - from traffic, aircraft and the constant sound of a water tank filling up.

Service was pretty poor - people on reception took ages to do everything and you had to keep pointing things out to them - i.e. they needed us to identify our bags so they knew which ones to bring up to the room.

There's a free shuttle bus between the hotel and the airport - we only found this out by chance - no-one bothered to tell us.

There's an indian restaurant next to the hotel. Despite a promising start (i.e. a good menu) the food was bland. We had a 15% discount voucher in the room - the restaurant refused to accept it saying it was no longer valid (the voucher had no expiry date on it)....the other restaurant served some dodgy looking buffet - with no vegetarian dishes it was a no no for that.

On the whole - a four star hotel with three star faciities and service - there are far better hotels in Dubai than this.

Un hotel fantástico, una ubicación fantástica y una buena relación calidad-precio

El Flora Grand es un hotel fantástico muy bien situado en la misma calle Al Riqqa. Los miembros del personal eran sin excepción alguna muy amables y serviciales.

La habitación estaba limpia y era razonablemente amplia. El resto del hotel estaba también muy limpio y ordenado. El buffet del desayuno estaba fenomenal y lo servían durante un margen de tiempo muy amplio por las mañanas. La piscina del tejado tenía buena pinta pero durante el tiempo que pasamos allí hacía demasiado frío como para utilizarla.

Este hotel resultó tener una relación calidad-precio fantástica en una ciudad en la que los precios parecen dispararse sin control.

Volvería a este hotel sin pensarlo dos veces.

Great Hotel, Nice Location, Good Value.

The Flora Grand is a very nice hotel with a great location just off Al Riqqa street. The staff were without exception very friendly and helpful.

The room was clean, and reasonably spacious. The rest of the hotel was also very clean and tidy. The buffet breakfast was fine and served over a nice long time window in the morning. The rooftop pool looked nice, but it was too cold during our stay to use it.

This hotel turned out to be a great value choice in a city where hotel rates seem to be out of control.

I'd go back to this hotel again without hesitation.

Dubai the best value ever

The Flora Grand in Dubai is in Derra district town centre. This is a new Hotel and has excellent facilities. They couldnt do enough for you. facilities include rooftop pool, gym, excellent restaurant and room service second to none. who says Dubai is expensive? I thought it was very resonable.

the Hawthorn hotel nearby also had excellent facilities. I have to go again as a week wasn't long enough.
