... I went to an Italian restaurant near the towers entrance and it was very good, added by the playing fountains to different tunes every 30 minutes. Nearly fell asleep in taxi coming back to hotel, so I obviously have more catching up on sleep to do. I have had to date this 16th not 15th because it wanted to put KL first, so I'm learning. The photos is giving me strife as I took them with the camera and it doesn't want to cooperate with this tablet! Frustrating when tired.

... crowd around to try to watch. We then stayed where we were, working our way to the front for the next performance. Was pretty cool to watch, kinda like fireworks - you can't look away.

          Exhausted, we headed home.

There is more to do at Dubai Mall though, and I would be fairly certain we didn't see all of it. There are also cinemas and an indoor soccer pitch. Even better - they are already expanding it! Will need two days to visit it next time we are ...

This morning was an early start (0630) and we duly got up when the alarm went off ready to meet Aladdin for breakfast. Aladdin had experienced delays last night trying to land his magic carpet and so had only stumbled in at 0300, needless to say there was a message requesting a delay to breakfast until 0800. So, as we hadn't yet had a chance to try out the hotel pool there was time to squeeze in a little cheeky swim before breakfast, in fact ...

... Dubai. Nothing sleek and shiny about this, only cramped accommodation holding the millions of people that make Dubai run. Without these people, nothing would get done in the city. It was good to note that maybe there has been a small improvement in some of the conditions, as some of the worst buildings have now been shut down and the government has built some new ones.

Sa**************ed out for lunch at the Mall of the Emirates - ...

Today was spent at Dubai Mall, one of the largest malls in the world, with over 1200 shops, a skating rink, one of the largest aquariums in the world, with the largest viewing panel on earth. As you can tell, everything in Dubai is the biggest. Just outside the Mall is the Burj Khalifa which is the world's tallest man made structure. We photographed it but chose not to go up in the super fast lift. You have to book in advance and pay quite a bit. We've been up plenty other ...
