      Got up and managed to make a complete racket even though I was trying to be really quiet. Felt like a complete idiot. Ate up my boxes of cereal and milk and managed to get on the correct bus. Phew!

      ... a lovely room set up for us on the second floor ( 3 flights of stairs) but unfortunately it did not have a kettle or fridge as promised. This was the hotel building, but we had to move to their uber-modern pension a few door down. While it wasn't as quaint, it did have the amenities and an elevator. And there was an amazing floor lamp that had a remote colour wheel control that could turn the room just about any colour you wanted.

      ... rode steadily uphill, around 1 km at about 10%, whew! Lana was knackered at the top but I went on, another 500 meters at 12% to the old castle. What a castle! Apparently it was the largest ever castle in Central Europe but was abandoned, blown up and generally fell into disrepair. But the authorities are gradually restoring this huge monument, it truly is a grand, old, medieval style castle complete with dry moats, drawbridges, etc. Had a quick look ...

      Began our Eurail Pass on the train to Olomouc. It is described as a hidden gem and when first arriving at the railway station the hidden part is obvious.
