We woke up and bid adios to Hotel Tony. After stopping at our favorite breakfast place, the Green place, we headed to the car rental place just down the street. Thank goodness for Carl Wehman's patient lessons in driving stick shift. We headed out of Athens in a small Fiat Punto that had seen better days. Luckily it was a Saturday morning so traffic was light we made driving in the city a bit easier although the ...

For lunch we went to the seaside town Nafplion ...

The Acropolis was a bit more impressive than the one we had seen in Athehs, as it seemed virtually unreachable seeing as it was so high! I imagine a joy helicopter flight would be a nice tourist attraction in that area! The ancient ruins below were quite incredible in contrast to the height of the Acropolis- i think if i were one ...

... monument of Mycenaean architecture built around the 14th century BC.
Next we drove to a gorgeous seaside town called Nafplion which is a popular summer resort. It had quaint narrow streets, window boxes, cobblestones roads - had ice cream here which was beautiful. A short drive to our accommodation, Hotel Minos in Tolo which overlooked the sea with a beautiful pool area. We felt like we'd arrived in heaven and watched the sun set across the water.
