Nauplia, a treat!

... enjoyed a lunch of Greek cheeses, salami and bread in the Syntagma Square.

We walked the streets of the city by the entrance to Fortress Palamidi, located almost 1,000 steps above the city, to find Arvanita Beach. The rocky beach provided the most beautiful and relaxing afternoon where we spent time swimming in the sea and sunning ourselves dry.

We wandered back to the ship and departed Nauplia for our final destination.

Epic failure

So in the time since my last writing we have taken 3 boats around the Cyclades and the feedback was that it was way beyond the experience level of flotilla customers. Really??

Therefore the second flotilla which we are on now with 10 boats was sent into the saronic gulf where the winds are much tamer. And so far I have had people complaining at me everyday, asking for compensation and saying they ...

Day 5- Mycenae and Nafplion

... how they managed to build and carry all these rocks up such a giangantic hillside. I see why they did it- they had such a magnificent and flawless view of their beautiful city and were also in the oppertune position to look out for attackers! The tomb of Agamemnon was quite impressive- perfectly shaped- it was awesome to see something i had studied at uni! I didn't stay inside the actual tomb for long- it smelt of dead bodies too much! Day 4- Corinth, Epiduras and Tolo

... I woke as we stopped for a short morning tea before we crossed the Canal and headed for the ancient city of Corinth. The Acropolis was a bit more impressive than the one we had seen in Athehs, as it seemed virtually unreachable seeing as it was so high! I imagine a joy helicopter flight would be a nice tourist attraction in that area! The ancient ruins below were quite incredible in contrast to the height of the Acropolis- i think if i were one ...

Next we drove to a gorgeous seaside town called Nafplion which is a popular summer resort. It had quaint narrow streets, window boxes, cobblestones roads - had ice cream here which was beautiful. A short drive to our accommodation, Hotel Minos in Tolo which overlooked the sea with a beautiful pool area. We felt like we'd arrived in heaven and watched the sun set across the water.
