      ... pm and paid 10 baht each to a jeep type taxi which can take up to 10 people (see video of me hanging off the back of a full one). Considering it took me 1.5 hours to walk this route, with my pack, 10 baht for the ride seems like the way to go! Got some beers from a 7/11 (they are by far and away the most ubiquitous shop over here) for 38 baht, about half the price of the same thing in a bar and walked down the street and back while watching various entertainers ...

      Well at least I can say that the trip started well. May had bought my ticket for the VIP bus to Pattaya. The VIP bus is how it sounds. The seat reclines almost all the way back and a foot rest raises up. You are given a blanket, just in case the AC gets a bit too cold, and there was a wide screen TV in the center of the aisle playing a seriously violent Thai Kung Fu movie. So I was happy.
