... br> We then had a bit of a walking tour around the city of San Jose. It is not the prettiest city by far, it's certainly not your Venice's or Rome's, or Barcelona's. You wouldn't visit because it is delight to the eye and has an immense overload of stunning architecture. That being said there are a few more attractive buildings dotted about such as The National theatre and National Museum. The rest is commercial with your average shops and is quite busy, as you ...

... they are men, it seems, that have just decided they are going to set up hut on your road and guard your house, for a small fee of course. I imagine this has come about through a turn of events over the years that it was particularly unsafe and because of this has moved onto bars and mini guards!!- Who knows.. Anyway, the variety of guard huts is really quite extensive. Maybe as you might be able to tell something about a person by the shoes they ...

We're off and on our way! As I sit in the Houston airport and the students explore nearby shops and kiosks, I finally take a sigh of relief and realize, we are on our way. Excitement is abuzz and the kids are already enjoying their vacation. We can't wait to get to Costa ...

... in a non-English-speaking country. But it worked out fine.

The hotel was actually very nice, but as soon as I got into my room I went straight down to the hotel restaurant for a cerveza. It was actually called Bavaria for some reason, but was a local beer and not bad for a lager.

And then I did something I haven't done in a very long time. I actually wrote the blog for today on the same day! I'm ...

... While exploring the city center of San Jose, we found out that this coffee shop still exists. It has not changed much. While enjoying a coffee break inside this special place, a friendly young man was roasting coffee beans with a big smile on his face. Once in a while, he was waving to us. We discovered that there are now many more 'El Tostador' coffee shops in San Jose. The coffee culture in San Jose is expanding!
