    ... up camp we took our bikes for a short ride down to the dyke to look at the sea. The sea is very flat and very shallow. The rocks were covered in small mussels and close to the harbor there were oyster beds with huge oysters. The area is a holiday destination and is fantastic for sailing, kite boarding, cycling, bird watching and hiking.

    And so back to camp for a braai with cold drinks.

    ... is stunning, so green and so neat. The towns are spotless and the people are friendly. When we finally stopped we had run up a distance of 75 kms for the day. This is a new record for us on our bikes, our previous being 72 kms last year in Switzerland.

    ... are very neat with straight lines and happy livestock. It appears that the region specializes in milk production which is, I guess, used to produce Dutch cheese. There are also a fair number of very fat sheep around that produce both wool and lamb chops.

    ... Wadden See is also
    some 3 meters higher than the Ijsselsee. This is the main dyke that allows for
    the existence of Holland as we now know it. Without this dyke, Rotterdam would
    be in the sea. The wind here was so strong that we were struggling to walk
    straight.
