Back to where it all began

Decided to come back to the first site we went to on our first camping trip a few years ago in Bora, that time we could only stay a couple of nights as the world cycle tour was on and we got kicked off. The journey here was hot, 34c when we got stuck in traffic. We were both fried when we arrived, had a wonder ...

Yesterday, I took public transit around Amsterdam, and all I could think was "I miss having a bike!" So today I took the train to Eindhoven, rented a bike, and rode around this quaint little town. What struck me as I was riding was the quality of the bike paths, but also how they ran right along ordinary things, like gas stations, that I see all the time in the United States. Thankfully the weather has been normal summer fare today, but not torrid. Right now it's about 28.7degC at 5:50pm and bright sunshine. We are enjoying a feature of our boat that is a bit unique and very comfortable. We have a home-made canopy which gives a very large area under shade-- about 6m long by 2.4m wide. Many much larger and more expensive boats ...

... that looked American. No 4th of July spirit. Otherwise we are in a sea of Dutch people. After a few hours of blazing sun, a layer of clouds came over and a nice breeze rolled in. Drying the sweat! The concert was so much fun! We just got back to our hotel, it's 2am now, and what an adventure we had. Mumford played from 9-11 then we waited for everyone to get back on the bus then finally left at 12. Mumford was amazing! It was incredible being in a crowd of 50,000 ...

    Over the border into Germany

... we indulged. As Lilli said ' the cakes are betterin Germany" ! I did not notice much difference. On enquiring about camping and accommodation we were told that there was a youth hostel just ahead in the next town of Hinsbeck. Climbing our first hill we came across it --very large and in a woodland setting, with a large stripy circus tent in the grounds. We were the only residents and had a warm night in a comfy bed with breakfast included for €26 so good value. Lovely sunny ...
