... a lorry was sideways across 3 lanes with the cab facing backwards and a few cars looking the worse for wear. Obviously not a good day for driving in Germany today. After lunch I carried on driving and there were occasional downpours which didn't help as I got more tired and then when we came to a section of roadworks I got stuck in the wrong lane and had to take the exit and was unable to rejoin the motorway. Everyone gave their passports and it was all good until they searched 2 Lithuanian looking men. They took their passports with them off the bus and into their little van to do more investigation I guess. They came back on and pulled them off the bus and told the bus driver to shut the doors. They are now standing outside my window and Hansel ...

... in German was a challenge, but we tried our best. After the service, a couple men came up to us to tell us that they were related to us as well! Such a friendly, friendly people and church. I am so proud that our ancestors came from this community. We went to Derene's house afterward to have coffee, cookies and chat some more. We met Dennis DeVries, Derene (Masselink)'s son, who reminded us of our cousins the Van ...
