We made it back into Germany! I have to admit, it is a little bit comforting just because it's familiar. Also, it's easier to get around because their public transportation system is more efficient than any other country we have visited. In Munich, we explored the main part of the city and ate a fabulous meal at the ...
... Bavarian foods I tried were Spätzle, currywurst, Stück, whitewurst, and of course lots of breads!
On our first full day in Munich we went to Dachau, the concentration camp. I don't think it needs to be said that it was dark, sombre, cold and haunting. Although the majority of the museum was posters and articles and reading, what was more thought-provoking was just standing in the barracks or in the yard; looking at my surroundings and thinking about ...
... Manchester teams were playing them that night.
We walked around; saw Market Plaza, The old Cotton Centre building as the lady had said cotton was important in the past for the city, and it took me until the next day to realise the connection, Manchester and cotton (..doh!) We had a nice day then took the train back to the hotel and collected our luggage and went to Terminal 3 and sat on the floor for couple ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Fleming's Hotel Munich City
Amazing Comfort, Location, & Price
My fiance and I booked a last minute Saturday night stay at the Fleming's Munich City based mainly on price and location. The hotel was one of the most competitively priced at $125 and located directly across from the main train station. The pictures on Expedia looked good but I've been fooled before. I was very surprised when we got to our room and it was nicer than the pictures! Everything was practically brand new and spotlessly clean. One odd design feature is that anyone showering is in full view by anyone in room due to a clear glass wall (check out the pictures I posted). I highly recommend this hotel if travelling by yourself or as a couple.
Better than most
I've stayed in more hotels and hostels than I'd care to remember and Fleming's hotel has impressed me more than most. I'd say it's one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. The room has a great modern design, is extremely clean and is quite spacious as far as hotel rooms go. It was far superior to other 4* hotels I have occupied in Europe (incl. Munich). I shared a room with my fiancee so we were delighted with the transparent glass wall seperating the bedroom and large shower, for couples not so intimately linked this may present an awkward situation!
Amazing room at the Fleming
The Fleming Hotel Munich City is a wonderful place to stay. VERY modern, excellent location to the train station, and a 10 min. walk to the old city. The restaurant is tasty, too (if a bit overpriced). We stayed in a room that had a glass shower- nice for a couple but would make for a potentially uncomfortable arrangement between two friends (as you can see the other person taking a shower).
Excellent Travelling Stop
I stayed there for one night stop, between two legs of my flight.
I had an excellent, big, comfortable and silent room with a very decent rate.
The hotel is quite new and very clean.
It is conveniently located 50 meters from the train station. Dinner and breakfast were good; no complaints at all.
And the bathroom is worthy a visit !!
Hits the spot
Superb new hotel-spacious quiet rooms
We stayed room only but breakfast
looked good and restaurant reasonable
prices. Staff very pleasant
However watch out for mistaked on your bill
We had 2 wrongly placed items on a 3 day stay
These were quickly removed
Would certainly stay again
Not finished construction
I booked a 3 night reservation at this hotel and received a confirmation through Expedia at a non-refundable rate. Upon arriving at the hotel, it was obvious the hotel was still under construction and completely empty.
I was shocked, because there were even photos of the rooms posted on Expedia. After we called the main office, and were transferred to InterCity Hotel, which was not as new or modern as I was expecting but we needed to stay in that neighborhood.
We were told by the hotel that Expedia did not respond when asked to remove the hotel from their website. Make sure that the hotel is actually occupiable when making a reservation!
After moving from another dark hotel in the area, I stayed in this pleasant hotel for 2 weeks in March 2006.
For the price, the location and service of this hotel is very good. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from Muenchener Freiheit, where one can get a U-Bahn and is also a hub of night life and food. The room was not huge, but normal for the area. It had a very clean and contemporary style. The bathroom walls were clear glass. The glass shower was pleasantly integrated into the main room.
-Free unlimited wireless internet
-Free breakfast (can get hot eggs)
-Friendly professional English-speaking staff
-It is on a busier street. There can be some traffic noise. You don't want the windows open.
-Their "fitness center" consists of exactly 2 dumbbells and a bench. (to summarize, there is no fitness center)
It is a good hotel. I would stay there again.
