Historical Traveler Reviews Fleming's Hotel Munich City

    Amazing Comfort, Location, & Price

    from

My fiance and I booked a last minute Saturday night stay at the Fleming's Munich City based mainly on price and location. The hotel was one of the most competitively priced at $125 and located directly across from the main train station. The pictures on Expedia looked good but I've been fooled before. I was very surprised when we got to our room and it was nicer than the pictures! Everything was practically brand new and spotlessly clean. One odd design feature is that anyone showering is in full view by anyone in room due to a clear glass wall (check out the pictures I posted). I highly recommend this hotel if travelling by yourself or as a couple.

    Better than most

    from

I've stayed in more hotels and hostels than I'd care to remember and Fleming's hotel has impressed me more than most. I'd say it's one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. The room has a great modern design, is extremely clean and is quite spacious as far as hotel rooms go. It was far superior to other 4* hotels I have occupied in Europe (incl. Munich). I shared a room with my fiancee so we were delighted with the transparent glass wall seperating the bedroom and large shower, for couples not so intimately linked this may present an awkward situation!

    Amazing room at the Fleming

    from

The Fleming Hotel Munich City is a wonderful place to stay. VERY modern, excellent location to the train station, and a 10 min. walk to the old city. The restaurant is tasty, too (if a bit overpriced). We stayed in a room that had a glass shower- nice for a couple but would make for a potentially uncomfortable arrangement between two friends (as you can see the other person taking a shower).

    Excellent Travelling Stop

    from

I stayed there for one night stop, between two legs of my flight.

I had an excellent, big, comfortable and silent room with a very decent rate.

The hotel is quite new and very clean.

It is conveniently located 50 meters from the train station. Dinner and breakfast were good; no complaints at all.

And the bathroom is worthy a visit !!

    Hits the spot

    from

    Superb new hotel-spacious quiet rooms

We stayed room only but breakfast

    looked good and restaurant reasonable

    prices. Staff very pleasant

However watch out for mistaked on your bill

We had 2 wrongly placed items on a 3 day stay

    These were quickly removed

    Would certainly stay again

    Not finished construction

    from

I booked a 3 night reservation at this hotel and received a confirmation through Expedia at a non-refundable rate. Upon arriving at the hotel, it was obvious the hotel was still under construction and completely empty.

I was shocked, because there were even photos of the rooms posted on Expedia. After we called the main office, and were transferred to InterCity Hotel, which was not as new or modern as I was expecting but we needed to stay in that neighborhood.

We were told by the hotel that Expedia did not respond when asked to remove the hotel from their website. Make sure that the hotel is actually occupiable when making a reservation!

    Good stay

    from

After moving from another dark hotel in the area, I stayed in this pleasant hotel for 2 weeks in March 2006.

For the price, the location and service of this hotel is very good. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from Muenchener Freiheit, where one can get a U-Bahn and is also a hub of night life and food. The room was not huge, but normal for the area. It had a very clean and contemporary style. The bathroom walls were clear glass. The glass shower was pleasantly integrated into the main room.

    Good:

    -Clean room

    -Free unlimited wireless internet

-Free breakfast (can get hot eggs)

    -Location

    -Friendly professional English-speaking staff

    Bad:

-It is on a busier street. There can be some traffic noise. You don't want the windows open.

-Their "fitness center" consists of exactly 2 dumbbells and a bench. (to summarize, there is no fitness center)

It is a good hotel. I would stay there again.

... also knew that there were tours that left from Munich so we decided that would be a good way to spend our day. Once again, we only had one day in Munich and after that day trip to Neuschwanstein, boy did we regret only doing one day there. The next morning was a busy one. We got up early and headed towards the central train station which is where our tour was going to leave from. We found the group meeting point and met our tour guides, Kevin who is from Houston ...

... Anyways in the fading light we did get a chance to walk and view a small slice of Munich and both Marge and I were glad we took the opportunity when it presented itself even if it was somewhat out of our comfort zone. We picked up a few German souvenirs before heading to the Ratskeller Beer Hall in the basement of the Town Hall. It really was a very large place and definitely there were many tourist there but touristy or not we enjoyed a lovely dinner with brats, German ...

... grounds. Luckily we were able to find Meghan and my other friends amongst the thousands of other people, and we all waited in line to get into the Augustinerbrau house. We waited until they let people in the doors at nine, and everyone started pushing and shoving to try to get through the doors. We raced inside and snagged two tables of 10 next to each other. Drinks were not served until noon when the ...
