We can't help to think about how lucky we were to have the freedom and conditions to take such an extensive trip around the world. We need to thank our two amazing kids who supported us in this idea and we have to also recognize how our parents helped us by providing us with education, love and everything else we needed to have the stability to live this life and take a year off to travel.

Arriving in the blazing heat of the late afternoon in Pantanal, I was expecting wetlands. Apparently a drought this year, a lot of the ponds have dried up (which also means less mozzies - yay. We also learnt that mozzies like black clothing which I'll remember forever). Our accommodation for the next few nights is a farm with horses, outdoors hammock area instead of couches and a tv, outdoor showers ...

If that last post sounded all doom and gloom, then rest assured we liked Curitiba a lot more than Sao Paulo.

Once again we arrived early in the morning, but this time we couldn't check into our hostel early. We dumped our bags and went off ...
