So we got to Tabatinga, not as dangerous as everyone makes it out to be. I mean, yea it was dodgy and we almost got run over a few times, but all in all it was OK. The hotel was nice, I should have hoped so for the price we paid for it (We felt like going quality for one night as we knew we`d be spending a lot of time there and not venuring out too much. Turns out we ventured out to the airport far too early the next day, getting the time zones mixed up due to our phones being ...

Every adventure trip experiences a number of things that go wrong. We have now completed some 16,000 km and 11 weeks since leaving Cochabamba, Bolivia on 19 Jan 2015.

Here are a few from the list so far:

After arriving at Mauricio's place we were keen to visit Rio Janeiro but Colin's bike was now 800 km behind us. Also Mauricio was not keen for us to take our bikes because of the risk of theft. He had lost a bike by hold up in Sao Paulo.
In the end Don, Colin and Robin flew to Rio J on Sunday night. Di stayed with Jucelia and enjoyed some time out.
The boys plan was to do a bus trip around the city and then do a little walk about. ...

... at the Auto electricians to await retrieval in a weeks time. At 3.30 we had 390 km to go to reach Mauricio's!

We made good progress, Don setting the pace and giving Colin a break every hour to stretch his legs. Unfortunately the clouds had been building and on sunset we rode into an electrical storm (around 6pm) - heavy rain and black as with lightning all around. Luckily we rode throughout he storm onto drier roads. We got to Sao Joa de Boa Vista ...

Exploring More of Sao Paulo State

... malls. The centre reminded me more of a typical Brazilian city; busy, with lots of shops selling suspect goods (i got a Hollister t-shirt for 10 reals {about £3-£4}).
The center has some nice parks with small craft markets and pretty grand cathedral. There is also a theatre, which apparently one of the best outside Sao Paulo city. Next to this there is a restaurant/bar place called Pinguim (Portuguese for penguin), famous for its chopp (a light beer) and some of ...
