... the ballroom and then checked in to our new hotel.

We then went into the hotel where Josefina used to work 15 years ago, and she looked back at those days. Walked to castle where they were showing Saxons v Vikings. Enjoyed the views across the two bays of Scarborough, looking back at the massive hotel where we had stayed the night before.

The next 2 days were travelling days in the UK. We set the GPS for Durham, about a 4 hour ride. We travelled on the A roads and enjoyed the English countryside stopping at Peebles for morning tea. A quick stop at Jedburgh and then on to the Scottish border. Lunch was at a roadside van at the border between Scotland ...

The months of anticipation and planning are over, here we are, lives packed in a campervan waiting to sail for Rotterdam and the Rhine lands beyond. The drive down to Hull was fairly uneventful. After a morning of rain showers we collected Evan from school and were underway by 2pm. Evan slept half of the way.
