... same stones as we were. Given the lateness of the season, there were not huge numbers of tourists, maybe two groups of Americans, a Japanese group, and a group that appeared to be Turkish. One of the English speaking guides was very good, so we hung around close to that group.

Our ferry was set to depart at 9:00am, so we were up early, packs on our backs, trekking over to the jetty to make the return trip across the Aegean and back to Turkey. I took advantage of the Greek duty free and grabbed myself some Absolut and Konrad some Johnny Walker before hopping on the boat and settling in on the top deck. The weather was perfect, yet again, making the hour and a half ferry ride back to Ayvalik wonderfully peaceful and relaxing -- ...

... the same approach. Then as a bolt from the blue... I was looking for the boat times and realised that the dock is are only listed as Marmara Island. Which is 20 km long and has four towns. Two are unlikely but the map suggests one town while logic suggests another. Looks like a tour of this mountainous island is in prospect. Gah why are things so difficult. Anyway I decide to go with Marmara. The rest of the day is spent faffing around. ...
