Left Albuquerque at 0800 am and headed towards Clinton, Oklahoma for the night. Drove 486 miles today under bright and sunny skies. It was really windy and very chilly low 40s all day.

Stopped in Santa Rosa, New Mexico because I was curious about the Blue Hole. Not much else there, except a lot of prisoners picking up trash and a lot of ...

Left the very over the top Holiday Inn this morning after a great breakfast of steak & eggs for Peter (just bacon & eggs for me) included in the price, old town real didn't look too old though. It's REALLY cold still but we set off on the I-40 westwards but decide to take a detour off south into Indian country as its so boring and really glad we did. ... road. Could have been Iowa. I'm surprised by the condition of I 40; at times a very rough road. The quality of the road changes as I cross state lines; sometimes when I cross county lines. I am curious as to how federal monies are allocated to federal highways and how that money is allocated within states.

One of the last long rides today - only 360 km. Sean and I left at 7am and via Route 66, minus a short stint on the motorway to find a bank, we headed to Stroud to meet up with Vicki, Karl & Julie. We wanted to try out the Rock Café so that was the rendezvous point at 0830. Thanks to the route planned, we went all over the place and ended up where we wanted to be, on time and ready for breakfast.

The Café was copied and ...
