... was rather invigorating.
After leaving the falls we were taken to the Niagara Gorge and Whirlpool where the falls originated from and where they converge into Lake Ontario. This was a beautiful spot particularly because the mountainside was filled with trees of amazing colours. If this keeps up, the only photos for the rest of this trip will be of leaves!

... and they reclined to almost a horizontal position which was great but I had an unfortunate and terribly ungraceful moment of trying to get up from the reclined position to fall into the lap of the man sitting next to me. Luckily he was a nice man who looked tired and frustrated and we had a good chat. This was my first insight into why so many people were on this train. ... to the bottom of the Falls, through all the mist. We were given rain coats, but we didn't think we'd get too wet......but we did! As we entered the mist it became like a rain storm!! It was cool to see from that view though, but we were really wet afterwards. We then tried to go on a cable car over some of the lake, but it was closed.

... was included in our package and we hopped straight on without any wait, which made Louie’s commentary and dubious driving practices worthwhile. We all ended up looking like drenched Smurfs but really was an amazing experience as we got as close to the falls as is humanly possible without risking life and limb. Simply exhilarating and so glad we did it.

... I start off on the top deck, but Dan suggests that you get wetter and possibly get a better view from the lower deck. I’m in! One other adventurer and I wander down to the lower deck, port-forward. There are much fewer people down here, and although I can’t see the sky, I have an awesome view of the cliffs to port. I would guess there were around 15 people on the lower deck, with more like 45 on the upper deck.
