Two Young Giffers on a Motorbike in Fetihye

A travel blog entry by jennifer63 on Aug 11, 2014

Great to get back on the bike today, er um for about 10 minutes. The temperature rose to 42.5 in no time and our Rukka textiles are not suited to this, we were literally baking inside our gear. Reluctantly but necessary, I took off my jacket and rode in a t-shirt for the first time ever, it was bliss but sooooo unsafe. A waterfall spouting ...

... from the internet so you can see a bit of the area.)

After hiking around, we went back to the van and continued our ride to Fethiye. It took about 3 hours to get there, but was a great drive. We stay in Fethiye for the next two days so will have more to report then!

... We smiled as one fellow looked after his young female "charge" so well he had to hold her hand the entire way!! It was good fun, the rock formations interesting. The photos do not do the gorge justice as it is impossible to get the full height in. The morning was a change from history and quite an adventure!
Later we headed into Fethiye old town to find some character. The marina there has some fine looking vessels. ...

Catching up

Our next few days ran together in a mish mash of sun, food and sleep. How great is that? Les, Willy and Bonnie decided to spend the next morning on the beach. Shelley and I hung around at the hotel and the pool. It is pretty hot here, minimum of 32 degrees so far. We have spent quite a bit of time with Jacqui and her family from Britain, who were surprisingly enough, also in Goreme at the Kelebek Hotel. Great people who have travelled in Europe ...
