... one Waffle House, our campground and one small Casino/hotel. And that was it for miles. I guess no one wants to rebuild here.

The sand on the beach was soft and flour like. But the water was a bit murky and we saw several big jellyfish. And oh is it windy in Gulfport! Locals say it's always like that here.

... them just gone.....it was a strange feeling wading in the warm gulf waters and looking up the coast at all the vacant land.

I have discovered that I love the Gulf.....I love fishing it, boating on it, swimming in it and relaxing near it. It's my happy place:)

    ... to be a big deal here but just some above ground tombs with some strange offerings (wine bottles, beads & other nonsense) around some, don't see the attraction. Then we drove to the 9th district which was worst hit by Katrina, some of the properties are being redeveloped but many are still empty and pretty much uninhabitable.
