Wine country and to Rothenburg

From exquisite to ancient
... medieval town about an hour from Wurzburg. Managed to snag Karl Heinz again as our guide. Several of these walled towns still exist, but Rothenburg is the biggest and has much of the original structures remaining. It is heretage listed. Spent the afternoon checking out the various structures including walking on the wall where they defended the town from. Met a lady who spent time in Australia and was very welcoming in her shop and had spent time in Mackay.

Wurzburg, a beautiful city and my favorite so far
After docking this morning, took a short bus ride to the Wurzburg Residenz, home of the prince-bishops in the 18th century--lots of ornate detail and compared to the Palace of Versailles in France. The Residenz is known for having The largest staircase enclosed in a room with gorgeous paintings on the ceiling depicting the continents except Australia since it had not been discovered at this time. One room had walls of painted mirrors ...
Expedition Europe Engaged
... With no strict plan it is easy to travel where the wind blows and find the unexpected or last minute treasure. A casual conversation over dinner involves what country we want to go to tomorrow, should we take an afternoon stop in Brussels? Maybe buy a flight to Italy?
It is a different scene from Africa, with different avenues to pursue meaning, but one thing is for sure: there are plenty of fun memories on the horizon in this Europe expedition.

Megahealthy times
The days go fast from place to place as I take one train after the other. From France to Switzerland. From Switzerland to Germany. And now from Germany to Austria. Sometimes too fast...I think every time I see a place disapearing after a trail of rails. Two days of amaizingly good sunny warm weather, of superhealthy vegetarian food, of good rest and relax times. Unfortunately I still feel sick but I hope is getting better and will be gone after the 6 ...
