... a place to launch that even someone in an air
cast can make it into and out of the boat without much problem.Driving south of Lubbock at night is eery. The huge wind generators are spread out across the horizon, and blink their eyes at you in unison. In the morning they are not quite so eerie looking. We caught an awesome view of the sunrise through the wind generators.

Sun and wind power....great advertisement photos I do believe!

... thanks to everyone who gave us odd jobs to save up a little extra cash along the way. As well as those who helped us out in other ways. People may knock small towns but those are people who obviouslyhaven't lived in one. Y'all are amazing and we can't thank you enough. Update: Stopped by the cops on the way....our luck precedes us once again ...

... it. There was no shade and we aren't built for all that heat and humidity so Chum and I did math in the shade of the car while Nate burned some energy.
We took a quick loop around the beautiful capitol building and then went to an IMAX movie and learned more about the state at the Texas State History Museum.
We made a quick decision to call Austin our eastern most point due to heat, bugs, lack of a/c, etc. ...

We had a GRAND TIME sharing past memories and photos, looking for red rocks for us to take back to Ohio and gathering unusual cacti that grow wild on Gary's 100+ acre farm.

Gary also had a restored 1930 Model A that we rode. What fun! Love the Texas ...

... town names we’ve driven through today: Blanket, Early, Comache, Meridian & Trinidad. All of these towns had their own character and some looked straight out of a movie set. We stopped at another tiny town called Iredell for lunch, at the 'Iredell Café’ – with a self proclaimed "Best Cajun catfish" sign on the front. The waitress was very friendly there and even had a couple of the locals joining ...
