Sturt Highway Renmark, South Australia, Australia, 5341, 8-85951401
... blew off her head and into the Murray. It surfaced once quite a way behind the boat and that was the last we saw of it :-(
From Renmark we drove to Loxton to check out some of the historical sites. Decided to skip the Village, but we checked out the 'Tree of Knowledge' and went for a drive through some back streets, partly because Sandy's still learning the GPS. We saw a road closed because ...
... Sturt Hwy was we were able to stop at Banrock Station Cellar Door - lovely restaurant with a great view over the Murray wetlands. Proper gourmet pizza too. Seems they are VERY focussed on the local environment
Arrived in Berri and sat in a local cofee / food shop on the river. Great setting and nice food
More on the over night rain in tomorrows blog but it was v wet overnight
... it was a really hot week and we didn't get to play too long at the playground or bouncing pillow as we were sweating at 6pm outdoors still! The region around Berri, Renmark, Mildura etc is great for fresh fruit and veg but there it is a fruit fly prohibited region so taking fruit & veg around SA, Vic & NSW is a little hard. In all, Renmark is a beautiful area and definately work the mornings drive from Adelaide for a great getaway on the Murray River.
Renmark, South Australia, Australia jamiesonfamily... arrived at Paringa at about 12.30pm. After lunch and setting up our gear in the Lutheran Church hall, Richard took us in by bus to Renmark, where we had a coffee and looked around the town centre and its shops.
A pub meal again in Renmark tonight, and to bed early for our 145km ride to Mildura tomorrow.
We will also cross the border into Victoria (but for only one day!)
Sunrise on the Murray River was beautiful. Without realising it we camped a 100 metres from the river. We find the wharf for the paddle steamer there are two in at the time. One was going up river for the winery tour. The other PS Melbourne (which we take) is a two hour trip down stream. The tour left at 10.50am and the girls were very excited. The trip was great ...
Murray Sunset National Park, Victoria, Australia omluke... Drove through Mildura crossing the border into Victoria once again after briefly re-entering New South Wales when crossing a bridge over the Murray. The road then meandered following the contours of the Murray valley. Parked up tonight 50km east of Renmark. A relatively uneventful day today, nothing exciting to report on, a day dedicated to driving by the river.
Renmark, South Australia, Australia christosp... the largest in the southern hemisphere) and the historical areas of Loxton and Barmera as well as Renmark. By the way, the Big Orange is up for sale. It is closed at the moment and the auction is on October 19th I think. The orange farms in the area have almost all changed over to vineyards and almonds. It is now Tuesday Oct 7th, and we did have a lovely weekend. The Rose Garden in Renmark has the biggest collection in Australia (or is it the southern hemisphere) and is quite amazing ...

Renmark, Australia keenos... because I mostly work with girls, and everyone knows that girls see that. One day I made a joke to my boss that I should get a x-mas bonus and he laugh. But when I had finish my last day he told me that I can borrow a car the next day, so I did that. The next day me, Jonathan and Emma, we went out to see the things that we should see when you are here, and we did. The car was a pickup so Emma and ...
Renmark, South Australia, Australia nathanael... for a nudie swim. We retired inside as the place was teeming with mosquitos that were hatching out of the lake but they didn't seem to be a biting variety but were everywhere. We played games of Uno and Skipbo before all hopping into bed and not too much reading as the insects were everywhere and swarming around the lights.
