    Over the the weekend the lodge hosted a famous Aussie chef for a weekend of gourmet activities. Most of the guests had departed when we arrived, so the resort was nearly empty. Today we found out we are one of two couples here for the week! It is the winter season, so definitely not busy.

    ... listening to some of their stories. I think the more recent visuals of the Christchurch earthquake has dulled the significance of the Napier earthquake. Seeing moving pictures on the TV and real live footage as much of it unfolded made the photography available from the 30s not as dramatic as it must have been.
