... left Lucy with a touch of tonsillitis! She doesn't think the healthy lifestyle is for her, chocolate is part of your five a day after all, isn't it??! On our first day in Fiji we took a trip on the local 'bus' to Nadi town. We'd only been off the bus 30 seconds before George introduced himself to us. He told us he would show us the real Fiji and led us through the village food markets down an alley and up some stairs to a native cultural market. Here we took part in ...

I’ve never seen a dead person before. Certainly not one dressed as a clown. You ...

... out how to get WiFi here even though I will have to pay. It is almost worth it since I have a whole free day and it is a much better connection so I can do a lot more.

I think I went to lunch around 1:30 pm so I must have taken my swim before that. I was going to sit at my own table but then the young woman who beat me to reception yesterday invited me to join her. She was sent to work in Kiribati ...

Another Slow Day in Honiara - Late Arrival in Fiji

... So I found out that the driver is 40 - he wanted to know how old my children were - and has been in Honiara for 9 years now. He said there were opportunities here in the Solomons. He was quite chatty - I can't remember what else we talked about - but the conversation was pretty much nonstop for the ride to the airport.

In my usual confusion at airports, I mistook the hallway to the bathrooms (with a big sign over it about HIV and safe sex) for ...
