... 8217;t bliss. It’s a life that’s hasn’t reached its full potential. I want to reach mine.

This is why I have to leave the comfort of my military life in which I feel successful, and become.... less ignorant.

I’m not a writer of any sort and my spelling/grammar is sadly, somewhat as good as a 14 year old high school student from Gorrrrrrrre... I don’t expect people to understand my point of view and do not wish to anger ...
Palmerston North, North Island, New Zealand kiwi_surfer... to get up hills and Sarah concentrating so ******* the road that she actually began to shift into a parallel universe. Things weren't helped by the fact that the New Zealanders don't need no crash barriers! No they just have a few sticks with some flimsy wire between them all to try and stop you falling the thousands of feet to the bottom of the valley below. It was tense but the scenery was fantastic. So, Palmerston North turned out to be a nice town. Our ...
Palmerston North, North Island, New Zealand beeb81... When you think of the Arctic, what comes to mind? Perhaps the first images that are seen may be that of polar bears, snow, and glaciers. However, there are several indigenous cultures- real people who thrive in the northern territory of the earth. The Arctic and sub-Arctic regions are homelands for diverse groups of indigenous peoples, each having their own distinctive cultures, languages and ...
Palmerston North, North Island, New Zealand aggurlieThis morning we had a look at our calendar and realized that it would be prudent to head north as we have but four nights remaining in New Zealand. Trusting our off-season/shoulder-season good fortune, we simply set out for the ferry with no booking. The drive from Nelson to Picton was sunny and gorgeous. Debi (and the Garmin GPS device) chose a shortcut for us which led us over two mountains via hairpin turns and sheer drops protected by painted lines on the too-narrow pavement ...
Palmerston North, North Island, New Zealand pauldebiSo the last enrty left off leaving Kaikoura and spending the night in Picton so will carry on from there... Saturday 5th April: Actually had a decent nights sleep at the Atlantis backpackers, but had to refrain from watching a movie some people put on as it was room 1408, freaky film with John Cussack! But back to the day today, got the 9.50am interislander back up to the North Island, leaving the South Island for good (or until I come ...

Palmerston North, New Zealand aggurlie... There was quite a large teenage emo contingent and the odd mumsy looking type. It seemed like it was probably someones eighteenth, but it was definitely a party that went on until daft o'clock in the morning, in a tent in a field in the middle of nowhere. So, not deserted in the conventional sense, although we were definitely the only ones camping in the camping area. This meant that we could bag a nice spot next to the picnic bench ...
Palmerston North, North Island, New Zealand jacobandkirsty... We had steak - which ended up smoking out the entire house and encouraging in the weirdest orange bugs I had ever seen. Seriously, they were hideous. So as well as the smoke we had some nasty bug spray too. Ick. We retired and talked philosophy and politics for far too long - well, I think I did a lot of talking and I'm fairly sure I should probably have shut up sooner than I did. Sigh. And so another day ends.....
Palmerston North, New Zealand loxias... native dove), 2 harriers (raptor birds), Australasian bittern and an Antipodes Is. parakeet, along with several geckos. It's awesome being able to visit and see/handle so many really amazing and different creatures here. Weather's been good and fairly mild; not too much rain either, which is good. Next stop - Sydney again. Then flying out to London on Wednesday (9/5/07). Vx
Palmerston North, New Zealand vanessa82... are basically like a fly on the wall, being a voyeur into other people's lives. So cool. Other than that, we also spent a day out at Himitangi beach, which is about 25mins out of Palmy. The Tasman Sea is wonderful to swim in! And, at the beaches here, you can just drive your car right onto it, so there's no parking lot. Just make sure you obey the beach speed limit of 40km/h! Anyhow, I'll try and post this now before it gets erased again!
