cascading down the side of a mountain.
After the 60 minute journey we alighted at Myrdal station to
wait for the next train to Oslo. Other Passenger's returned to Flam and their tour buses or cruise
ships. We needed to get on with the next stage of our journey.

Finally in Bergen we wandered around Bryggen, the old town, and up the narrow crooked lane way with overhanging galleries where the movie 'The Witches' was filmed. ... back to the harbor to sight see & shop. During our explorations we found the entry to the funicular so up we went to see the fabulous view from atop the mountain. The rain slowed down enough for some good pictures. We ate at a quaint hotel/restaurant up there & had a nice visit with our young waiter.
We decided to get back before dark--what were we thinking? There is no after dark. We knew the next day would be tough.

... of Coke and a quart of milk! In addition to that and of course the food we brought with us, we also bought a $15 pint of ice cream to celebrate squirt’s birthday, but that was about it. So perhaps we spent $50 on food for the entire trip -- eating breakfast and dinner at the hotel easily saved us over $100 / day, and that's assuming we ate fast-food or kebab off the street!
