... which I occupied!) off and on the whole trip. I hope he gets some medication for his condition. ;-)

The trip over the Pacific going east has the advantage of a tailwind, so it does not take as long and can be a bit more direct than when traveling west. So in just over 11 hours we touched down in Detroit. After a quick trip to retrieve luggage and go through customs we walked through the "tunnel of lights" to our gate for the final leg of the trip from ...

As the 13+ hour flight from Detroit closed in on Japan, I watched our progress on the flight tracking program on the screen in front of me. We followed the arc of the Kuril Islands - site of the launch of the Japanese fleet that attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941. Today we went off to Nagoya Castle. So far it has been my favorite and not just because the SAKURA ARE RUFFIANLY IN FULL BLOOM but it had a awesome layout and design. We also went to the palace but it had been rebuilt and was all new so it wasn't as good. The we went to a shrine that was deep in a park that was more like a forest. There I saw Miko-sans! Later we found another discount figure store where I went a bit nuts =P

Inter net is being a *****, pic will come tomorrow night.

I'm sorry if you're tired of hearing this, but I'm so grateful to Hilton Hotels for this experience. Thanks for sending me to ...

... to just chill and enjoy dinner while listening to some really upbeat music. We enjoyed the food and decided that after dinner, we'd go up to Tokyo TV Tower.

This was the highest point in Nagoya and offered some lovely night views of the city. We got a few more dozen photos of the views but sadly some turned out blurry. We also didn't realize that when we arrived, it was during some love festival. The tower was all pink and love hearts were all over the ...
