Just figured out that I’ve travelled 5500 km since leaving home. ...

Got back home yesterday. I can't even begin to tell what a great adventure it has been. The Mouse performed without missing a beat and everybody got along as we should. We'd like to thank all the people who encouraged us along the way. At every stop we made the interest in what we were doing was astounding. We had a delightful dinner of BBQ'd ribs (recipe and made by my cool new brother in-law and family) for dinner, with salad and corn.

Conrad and i had a bit of a giggle once we went to bed as the beds were rather short and the poor guy had his head and feet touching the bed posts!!

As ships pass, there is a customary horn-blowing sequence that is copied back. Long-short-long-short means to raise the bridge, and Long-short-short is a friendly salute.

Our first day trip was to check out the Glensheen Historic Estate. We went on a guided tour of about 1 hour though most of the mansion. I was allowed to take pictures inside check out some of the beautiful rooms below. Glensheen sits on 7.6 acres (3.1 ha) of lake front property, has 38 rooms and is built in the Jacobean architectural tradition, inspired by the ...
