A very long drive today so we set off early and joined rush hour traffic out of Oslo. Oslo really does have a huge traffic problem but luckily we were going against it so very little hold up. So out into the country north and then east into Sweden via a little used border crossing in dense forests. Day 16: We are nearing the end of the trip and we couldn't come this far and miss showing my parents the town I went to school in. Right now, with the wind from the north, we were perfectly sheltered and as we approached brand new pontoons, we were pleased with our choice. A helpful local took our shore lines and texted the harbourmaster to tell him of our arrival (there was only one other boat in the guest part of the marina ...

... a couple of hours it was so hot so we decided it was time for a swim. I was so keen as it had been nearly a year since we had last had a proper swim in fresh water. The lake was freezing except for the top half metre so I pretty much had to throw the boys in haha. After our swim we headed out to taste some of the local delights for lunch. The schotskin! It is Sabenna's family business, similar to a fish and chip shop except selling burgers and sweedish fast foods. It was so good. ...
