I concluded my 2 month adventure with a 2 day visit to Anna's aunt Birgitta in Leksand, which is in the traditional Dalicarlian region of Sweden. I should note we had a small delay on the train ride up to Leksand since the train hit a moose, which apparently isn't that uncommon here. Birgitta has been the best host up here taking me around and cooking us the best meals (in fact I have to get ...
Leksand, Swedish Lakeland, Sweden danwstephens... just right. It wasn't too short and not too long. The last presentation was mine and was entitled "The Gospel of the Kingdom of God." We passed out the last of the handouts and tidied up the meeting hall. A number of our people had to leave on the 1:06 PM train that headed towards Stockholm. Some of the brethren such as the Asians both in Norway and Finland had to leave earlier for their respective destinations. We are talking about doing ...
Leksand, Sweden victorkubik... at http://lifenets.org/vinogradov/summer08 /zahora/thoughts.htm. After the presentation we had a special event: the baptism of John Wënnstrom from Oslo, Norway. He is actually a Swede working in Norway. This was a most encouraging and event not only for John but for all of us. Johnnie Lambert and I performed the baptism in the lake. We came back up on shore and held the laying on of hands ...
Leksand, Sweden victorkubik... The place that was selected was indeed attractive. It was a recreational park that had both hotel rooms and self-catering facilities. Certainly everything was adequate and more so. The big question we're still faced with is where to hold the 2009 Festival where more of the brethren of modest means can come. Where we have held the Feast in Estonia for seven times since 1997 still has advantages, but we're still ...
Mora, Sweden victorkubik... to the airport and the train station that is right at the airport. Tickets were a bit higher than we thought they would....about $200 each to Leksand and back to Stockholm. On the train we met Dorthea from Denmark. She also flew in this morning and our group is growing as we're getting acquainted on the train on the way to the Gathering. In three hours we arrive in Leksand with one train ...
Leksand, Sweden victorkubikThe preparations, packing etc took place at my family's house in Älvdalen, Sweden. I moved all my things here. Not paying rent is important when travelling for long time. Story on At home
Alvdalen, Swedish Lakeland, Sweden fnasse... most traditional in Sweden to experience the Maypole, little frog song & dance, pickled herring, schnapps, traditional Swedish attire and all other things midsommer. I wasn't quite far enough north to get the midnight sun, but it never got completely dark - at midnight I was able to walk around (in the forrest) without a flashlight.
Dalarna, Sweden jc_haroonA nice sunny drive south. Made quite a milage. Tired we rolled into Mora. Parked at the railwaystation by the lake. Walked for a bit, asked round for a good preice on accomodation. Found a Best Western. Had a few beers and settled in for the night.
Mora, Sweden wolfsea... 1922... now the worlds largest ski race, it has more that 17,000 people compete in it annually! From there we went to a Darlahäst factory, where they make the Darla Horses... I will add some pictures here soon... So that about all from the meatball land Chat soon CP
