... lift locks and a marine railway. The 202 km long Rideau Canal was built 175 years ago, with 24 lock-stations, 47 locks and is rated #2 on National Geographic’s "Must See" list because of its uniqueness, authenticity and stewardship. Some day, we’ll experience both – maybe when Tim & Sue retire (she was born here).

· Due to our short stay, we didn’t have ...
Kingston, Ontario, Canada jimcabay... br>Und das hat sich trozt der kurzen Zeit definitiv gelohnt. Es war einfach traumhaft bei strahlendem Sonnenschein zwischen den unaehligen Inseln herumzupaddeln. We sort of took over the pavillion. We streched out our mattress pads to sit on to eat and then took naps. Carmen took out her sleeping bag for the sun to dry up the moisture. Kingston, Ontario, Canada laura3849... idea of what it would have been like to live in Edinburgh many hundreds of years ago. descriptions of people quotes work housing leisure legal day to day life laundry Pizza express Walk up along the The Royal Mile. Edinburgh has many beautiful buildings but most of them are so dirty they are almost black. I don't like how dark the city is. I like the bright and fancy areas of cities like London and Paris more. Edinburgh, United Kingdom jae... While walking through the shambles it's somehow easier to imagine the streets as they must have been during the times when they were built. It must have smelled horrible. Went back to the convent and made ourselves a stir fry for dinner - not the best but okay. Watched some t.v. And played some pool and a game of Mastermind. Both exhausted again - I am having a horrible time with the jet lag this trip.
York, United Kingdom jaeSenica and I went for along and scenic drive through rural roads to Westport. We saw lots of lakes and stopped for dinner in the small tourist town of Westport where the Big Rideau Lake meets Wolf Lake. We climbed Foley's mountain after dinner and had a nice lookout over the town. Then we meandered through the quiet streets before driving home.
Westport, Ontario, Canada lolly... or so, but I'll figure that out a bit more closely tomorrow! Oh wait, we're running out of time, so I should probably do that now. haha. Anyway, Ross is currently finishing his last shift, and I'm finishing the last bit of trip purchases. We opted to get him a travel towel because he didn't have one, and we weren't sure if the Casas would all be providing them. Another unknown. Other than that, we didn't have to buy much for this trip - we have most of ...
Kingston, Ontario, Canada jessica_cdnSenica and I took a long drive today. It was lovely to explore the area. We were definitly travelling on the scenic route. I have never seen Wolfe Lake before, nor driven all the way around Devil Lake. We had a lovely dinner for two at a Greek Restaurant in Wesport.
Westport, Ontario, Canada lollyI spent the Thanksgiving weekend with Nick. Saturday morning we visited Fort Henry, which is across from the Military College. We spent the afternoon shopping. Watched the movie "Road Hawgs" in the evening. Sunday we had Thanksgiving dinner with one of Nick's old Air Cadet Squadron's friend from Calgary who is in second year at RMC. A few pictures from Fort Henry and Nick goofing around.
