    ... be rehabilitated? The early cells were only about four feet wide with a single bed. Hardly room to turn around in. These cells were updated later and became larger and a bit more humane. Kingston Penitentiary closed in 2013 and the inmates were relocated to other institutions. I have no idea if the conditions there are now any better.

    Sept. 7th

    The morning was absolutely perfect. Sunny and calm. We went in to Kingston this morning and did a very short impromptu tour. At the dock we were pleasantly surprised to see a multicultural festival occurring. We looked around and treated ourselves to a meal of Pupusas from El Salvador.     ... Driving - only for a short distance though - we happened upon a sign that read Lemoine Point Conservation Area. Since we were in the area, we thought we'd check it out. The walk along the paths were wonderful. We especially liked walking along Lake Ontario. We saw lots of trees, flowers and birds.
