      We spent today exploring Alesund. The guided tour we had intended taking has not yet started this season. Instead we bought a booklet and took a self-guided tour, covering everything in the booklet, including climbing the 418 steps to the town mountain (their description), Aksla for great views of the town.

      ... out and the rain arrived. We didn't see much of the town though it looked quite pretty. We also found out it was so busy during the day because it was a long weekend in Norway - third holiday related to Easter apparently.
