... a little quesy but managed to down my breakfast. Today we were going to Stina's house for dinner so we decided to make ANZAC biscuits. They turned out really good except they decided to keep their ball shape instead of flattening out. No big deal. Stinas house was beautiful, however her bedroom wasn't practical for the taller population. She had a giant beam that was my forehead height and no I didn't hit my head so stop snickering ...
Mantorp, Östergötlands Län, Sweden heathje... played RnB and other music i like, but there wasn't many people there so we moved across the street to Platå (pronounced platua). The music here wasn't really for me, techno, both english and swedish. After dancing till my feet hurt, Sanja and i just sat on the couches and relaxed a bit. We left the club at 3am and caught a cab home. It was a good night. We tried tequila shots, definately a new favourite! The girls also sang hapy birthday to me at midnight, in Swedish (yes ...
Linköping, Östergötlands Län, Sweden heathje... as his Liverpool Soccer team is playing on Swedish TV. Liverpool is playing Chelsea at home at 5 PM Swedish time. It's amazing how people take on a different nature with sports and watching Paul was more interesting for than the actual match. Liverpool won 2-0. In soccer there is so little actual scoring that a goal scored is a major outburst of joy and exaltation. We ...
Mjolby, Swedish Lakeland, Sweden victorkubikDay 3 was our last day and we had to get up really early for a bus at around 5 in the morning. We then had hours to kill before our flight home. On the flight we were just leaving when someone was taking ill so we had to go back and unload them, they were taken off in an ambulance.
We spent the second day just chilling out and looking around the town (not much to see in winter) before heading to a sports bar for dinner and then to the concert.
The concert was amazing and afterwards we went to the stage door. After waiting ages we were told that Kerry and Mazz had gone out the front door so we ran round the front, highly embarassing as it was a glass building so Mazz saw us run round.
... so finally we were off to the venue.
Stage Door
The venue, the Louis de Geer, was only about a 10 minute walk away so we headed to the stage door to meet Laura's friends. We saw Kerry Ellis briefly but Mazz was on the phone. Laura's friends invited us out but because of strict drinking laws we couldn't go. So back to the hostel it was to battle with the shower that had no door or no light!
... of restaurants. Our current concern is that while the hotel rooms are OK, clean etc, they may not be what many in the US are used to for a comparable price. We would be very interested in knowing how many people from outside Scandinavia would desire to come here for the Feast of Tabernacles. We then looked at the theater where we would hold services. The manager of the theater whose name was Fredrick showed us around the auditorium, stage and sound area. He was very friendly ...
Mjölby, Sweden victorkubik... We especially made an effort to find this bus so that THIS wouldn't happen. But, the cab driver was a nice fellow reminding us so much of Toomas Schvak in Estonia. The cab has a few monitors playing ads while you ride. Our driver tells us how this new system has been so profitable for him. I should think that just the cab fares would make you wealthy, though! He said that some passengers find the repetitious ads about orange juice, hotels ...
Mjölby, Sweden victorkubikSometimes when you are traveling you stumble upon the best things, such as a local wedding or a sumo wresting event in the town square, or an udder competition (Germany, Poland, and Sweden respectively). The udder competition was part of an event held outside the city of Linköping last weekend. In addition to judging udders (which by the way, should ...
Linköping, Sweden bethHE SAID: Today we visited the open air folk museum in Linkoping where they brought old houses from across the country here to simulate a village from a long time ago. Afterwards we saw the cathedra and then had a BBQ at Asa's brothers house (Per). His ceiling was so low in the living room that anyone over 6 feet would hit their heads. We came back to fresh laundry complements of Asa's mother.
