Un'ora esatta e sono a Firenze: no acqua e no traffico; in senso contrario, qualche moto di rientro dal GP del Mugello.

We left our villa today and began heading south east through stunning Tuscan countryside. I have been really excited about visiting some of the special Tuscan gardens..after watching Monty Don in his Special Italian Garden programme so I was excited that even after all the drama of yesterday we were still able to find the time to visit the stunning garden at vVilla Reale di Marlia. I loved every minute of it and if ...

One of the highlights of the trip so far was our morning ballooning with Chris and Claire from "Ballooning in Tuscany". We had an early start (5am) to be down at the launch field for 5.40am and then we took off at about 6.30-6.45am on a beautifully sunny morning with fantastic views over the Tuscan countryside - the pictures hopefully do it more justice than any description I can ...

I was really surprised by the quality of what I got. I paid three or four Euros and was given my own private tour of the synagogue. The lady told me all about the history, which I was able to compare and contrast with the information I had garnered on my tour in Venice. The ark was very similar to ...

... accidentally meet someone's gaze or risk being followed around or grabbed. I'm not making this up. We were warned about it by a policeman at the start of the program. The last thing is that the Italians are never barefoot. Even inside. We always wear flip flops or slippers or shoes around the house, which is something else I'm having to get used to. It's only in our own room that Meg and I get to luxuriate in the sensation of having bare feet.
Okay. That's all for now. Buona notte!

... woman from Kalgoorlie and then made my way to the bus again, this time to visit the Gallery Accademia in Florence, specifically to see Michelangelo’s statue of David.

Again I didn’t take a map and really had no idea where I was going, so I wondered the streets, looking out for signs. Eventually I asked for directions and again it turned out I was in the same street as the gallery. To my credit, this gallery is not what you would expect. There are no ...
