... we were up here i said goodbye to the three local dogs. We'd nicknamed one Smiley dog as it appeared to constantly be grinning, and when you gave it a fuss it'd get so excited it would wet itself.
Having skipped breakfast in place of coffee, we returned to Afros in Acharavi. We had a massive brunch of seafood: calamari, whitebait, tuna fritters etc. and then said our farewells to Costas and Chris. I'm sure we will see them again.
After fare-welling ...
... was only silence. We wouldn't be going round for dinner any time soon.
My parents went out to IKEA to look at white ware so I decided to stay home and look into Istanbul. *************.
Later that afternon we checked in on the house. The tiles downstairs have been laid and the place is really starting to come together. I'm jealous that by the time my sisters visits in July it will probably be finished.

We decided to go and explore Corfu Castle, the older of two fortresses in the town. The fortress was huge, and had been in use for centuries. The British had built barracks here, and also a church in neo-classical style.We climed up to the light house on the top and looked out across Corfu town and the Mediterranean below. ... breakfasts and I had a fishfinger sandwich with a vimto. Nothing flashy, but perfect wet weather food.
upon returning to Corfu town, we drifted around the harbour looking at boats until the weather forced us back inside.
We spent the night the evening lounging around then got takeaway pizza for dinner. It was great pizza, proper italian style with a thin base and minimal toppings. A slow day but it was nice to relax.
... but packed full of flavor. For mains we had osso buco with safron risotto, seafood spaghetti and spinach and feta raviolis. The pasta dishes were both homemade and delicious and the osso buco was rich and orange-y. Desert was on the house, chocolate mousse and creme brulee. The mousse was airy, but the brulee wasnt set. It was very tasty regardless though.
We thanked the host and the chef, his brother, and went home and straight into food comas.
