Porvoo is the second oldest town in Finland. I have been waiting to go there since I arrived in Finland but was waiting for a spring day. After an extra hours sleep due to a time change we got up and sorted ourselves out for our shore excursion. Today is the start of the summer solstice celebrations in Finland which last 3 days so most of the businesses were closed. Went through to Porvoo and there were a few shops open. bought a few souviners there and back at the port before reboarding our ship. Now we have 2 days at sea before ...
... best recommendation so far is for Lungi, which we were told roughly means "relax." Dishes ordered by our table: salmon salad, braised pork sandwiches, French fries, gin and tonic, wine, beer. This place has a great comfortable, but fun vibe thanks to its layout reminiscent of the mainfloor of a house, eclectic music, art and furnishings. We've compared it to our favourite Edmonton spot, The Next Act.
The final date of the tour, we were joined by a local band who were sick, but sadly I don't remember their name :-(
We got there about tea time n after sound check - local band had brought an entire PA, mixer, light rig AND stage - we got fed and watered. The Hotel folks kept the free beer coming and the food was excellent, definitely a great last meal for the tour!

Here is our final day in Scandinavia - the last walk in Finland. It was a wonderful nature walk, though I think next time, we'll cut back on the the amount of the trail that's in the forest and include some walking through the medieval core and along the river in Porvoo.
