... buildings. In some cases you could see where the cladding had fallen off and there were brick walls underneath. Not sure whether the original buildings would have been entirely wooden and the cladding is put onto modern buildings to look authentic. Anyway, it was very attractive and a nice place to wander around. A few galleries and gift shops, but we weren't tempted.

... one of the churches ( how did they make such good maps 800 years ago? And how come this tiny place - called Mesembria then - was so important?) and a bit of sleeping / reading on the beach. No sun loungers available yet, but lots of activity suggesting they will be soon. Maybe the season starts on June 1st.

... and 'All I want for Christmas is You' on the sound system! He also spotted that I sniffed the milk in the jug (just checking whether it was pasteurised - which is fine - or sterilised which I don't really like in my tea). Out he came like some kind of messenger from the gods to explain that everything in this hotel is fresh and it is Facebook number one! Maybe so - but I still want to know what kind of milk I'm putting in my tea!

Next to the church of Sveti Georgi were the remains of another church. Not much left now though apart from a few arches and wall foundations.
