... being Sunday, with all the locals enjoying the beach, we decided to just do a good stroll in town, had some fabulous fresh calamari and a Greek salad, and behived it back to the air conditioned ship and pool on the 9th deck. I will take Hawaii!! Venice Tomorrow a day at sea and then returning to one of our favorite ports on this trip...Venice. We had 1 1/2 days here midway thru the cruise but I decided to end our cruise blog with this great city! We had ...

... around and see it through their own eyes first. Yeah you come home with the perfect shot of yourself near something cool, but do you even remember seeing it? Craziness! Anyways enough ranting. So, after the most expensive breakfast ever we walked through Fira to the bus terminal where we were meeting our private transfer driver to take us to the cliff house in the town of Oia (pronounced "ee-a") that we have rented for three nights. Oia is at the west end of Santorini and is less ...

Unfortunately it looked a bit sad in the winter time but it was not hard to imagine how full of life and energy this place would be in say August or September.

At this point we were nearing the end of our Santorini check list but decided that if we could find it, ...

Got up and decided that today was the day we head down to Amoudi port for a look around. We took the bus from Fira to Oia and found our way to where the walk begins. The steps are about a meter wide and there are 360 of them to reach the bottom. Of course that means there are also 360 steps to reach the top.

It was a beautiful day and the views were lovely heading down the steps. Of course, the steps have been around for quite some time and are not smooth ...

... it is fairly slow paced so I can't imagine many accidents happen. We took the quad to all parts of the island.. went to the lighthouse which was very high and very pretty and went to the black sand beach for lunch and drinks and a lounge about. Our hotel was called the Enigma.. It was so cool! It was nestled right in the rocks overlooking the sea where the cruise ships come in. Our room certainly had personality.. It was neat ...
