    Landing at the airport I quickly found that they only had one ATM and it was out of order and there was nowhere to exchange cash. So rather than getting the bus I was lumped with a taxi.

    It was a small bump in what was a chilled five days in the little town of Corralejo in the north of Fuerteventura, one of the Canary Islands. It's a kiteboarding and surfing paradise so not quite my cup of tea but I really enjoyed the laid back vibe ...

    ... fruit... Lazing by the pool, we topped up our tan and I even managed to get sunburnt feet! Although cold, the pool was a welcome place to cool-off.

    ... large, a second table was required, just for the plate! Rolling our bellies down the hill, we head to the Island Bar, for a live music night. The owner Cara and her husband Rory, are friends with my cousin, and Rory has us clapping and cheering all night long with his very entertaining music. We met the coolest taxi driver on the ride home, who complemented my (drunken) Spanish, and told us how the water, electricity and petrol plants are side-by-side, so if one goes... they all do!

    ... using the chairs. But it was only 6 euros a person for the whole day. Which was not bad at all considering the umbrella was our only escape from the blistering hot sun. We hung out there for a few hours bathing in the sun and even took turns going in the water. The ocean was crystal clear and the softest sand, it was beyond amazing.
