... are too!! So while show was thus occupied Kim and I punished ourselves by doing an exercise circuit along the esplanade before a well earned scrambled eggs breaky.
After much searching we found the local Aire de Servicio to top up water before heading further south…
We jumped into the car and left Granada, heading for our next destination ... a place called Ronda (No, not a fish called Ronda!) Ronda was recommended to us by Kim & Emma (so thank you guys for the awesome heads up!) We arrived about 5.30pm, found a campsite and set up for the night. Next morning Ian went on his usual reconnaissance mission, then after breakfast we packed up and headed into town. The recon mission had ...
Ronda, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands traylertravels... of the ocean and saw many new luxury developments that were under construction. Each development seemed to be trying to out-amenity the others. Upon arrival at the simple bus station in Ronda Lee and I headed downhill towards a hostal recommended in Rick Steve´s. The hostal, the Ronda Sol, had a decent room for only 20€ a night which we snagged. It didn´t appear that many other guests were there so we wouldn´t encounter delays sharing a bathroom. We wanted to make ...
Ronda, Spain rnriggins... early. Or tried to. Andrés was off doing his stuff while I met up with, and coffee with, the newly renovated Juan Ramón Toro, the manager and owner of the Coripe Station Restaurant/Bed and Breakfast, who has been extremely successful at remaking his life: in addition to running the station, he has successfully lost at least eighty kilos - sixty in the form of an ex-wife. Success suits ...
Ronda, Spain dawnsev... It was pretty cool. On the way we saw friendly signs that read "Tourists are the Terrorists" and "Why call it tourist season when you can't shoot them?" Then we went to a cool market and saw salt cod and seafood and scary meat, and amazing produce. We had lunch at a seafood place that was great. We were seated next to a friendly British family with a lively ten year old son. Crashed that night. Day 3: Hotel breakfast is ...
Barcelona, Spain mwolf... Our next door neighbours had shouted us a round and seemed keen to join in our fun! Not being ones to dissapoint we duely obliged with some introductions! Our new best friends for the night were Scot and Michelle. Scot, funnily enough, was from Scotland. Obviously not wanting to be outdone by the Scottish, I reciprocated the kindness they had shown with a round of our own. Then not wanting to be outdone by the English, Scot replied in kind.. not wanting to be ...

Barcelona, Spain sharonitaWe arrived in Barcelona yesterday morning after a long night of not sleeping on the night train (slava excluded). We had to stop and switch trains at a town on the France-Spain border where they were checking passports before entering the station. The guard glanced at the cover of my passport, muttered "Canadian" and waved me through. Apparently young Canadian girls are no threat to Spanish homeland security. We wandered aimlessly around the city looking for a laundromat for our clothes ...

... and Carmen, the LC´s daughter, knew a bit english, but still made me speak in spanish most of the time, which was good. I learned that there would be 6 other exchange students coming, a finnish guy, a german guy, a sweedish girl, a girl from switzerland, and 2 german girls. I felt a bit more relieved... and prayed that they knew english. then it was time to meet the host family... we got to the house, and it wasn´t ...
