Historical Traveler Reviews Finas Rhodes
Do not stay here!
Having spent what we considered to be a lot of money for a one room "apartment" we were very disappointed. "Bedsit" would describe the room better with a door that had to be locked to ensure it closed properly. The "Kitchen area" is in fact a cupboard and the room wasn't cleaned every day - or even half the time.
Whilst the drinks & food were reasonable prices the horrendous noise that went on every night until at least 2am, sometimes 4am almost ruined our holiday. Do not stay here; you will get no sleep, the bar staff are indeed friendly but the owner doesn't give two hoots.
The local beach and tavernas are lovely and thank goodness for us as that helped prevent our holiday being ruined but this resort is not to be recommended to families with children or anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing holiday.
Russ & Lisa from Torbay, Devon Think is was the best!
What a holiday, superb in every way. Really enjoyed in Pefkos and the Finas hotel was just great, fun, superb food and I mean superb food.
The pool was lovely and the weather was spectacular.
Rooms are basic, but clean and spacious and maid service was exellent as they do not hassle you or knock on your door / walk in when you maybe recovering from the great night before.
The people there are wicked, real fun and helpful all the way, what a bar man, entertaining or what! great guy. (Aris)
There are many other beautiful resturants if you want to venture out, but you wouldnt need to if you didnt want to.
We went self catering, but to be honest we did not cook once as it was not that expensive to eat out and the food was superb. No dodgy bellies either!
I wanted a great holiday with not to much noise or hassle from touts or drunks, but more than enough to do and thats what I got.
Great for familys and couples but not for party animals. overall I have been loads of places in europe and this was far the best the Greek people are exellent and I would certainly recommend to go and try it.
Dont just go to Pefkos go and see the whole of Rhodes Island. We travelled around the Island and its beautiful and alot cleaner than some places I have been to.
I loved it so much there I proposed to my girlfriend as its a real romantic place and I we are thinking of getting married in Lindos. Love it loads!!!!! (not as much Lisa, who must thank for saying yes! xxx)
Its a must to go and see the Aegean sea meet the Med at Prassonissi you will love it!
Not What it Used To Be
This used to be a nice friendly hotel. I do not know what happened this year but the rooms had spiders, cobwebs and cockroaches cracks in the walls and a door that you had to lock to make it stay shut. The best feature of this place was always its good service and friendly staff not so this year we had to wait to be served while favourite customers got all the attention and found that some of the bar staff only managed a smile when the owner was present. We also found it to be expensive 2.50 for a beer 1.50 elsewhere.
Needless to say we will not be going back and would not recommend this place to anyone.
Great hotel but noisy at night
The Finas hotel was great in many ways for the mid range hotel that it is. It was clean, everything worked, the hotel setting is nice (against a cliff, peacocks on the site). The staff were extremely friendly and always helpful. We went with two young children who loved the little playground (though basic) and the staff who spoilt them. Also the playground is next to the bar / restaurant which is great for parents! The only downside, which can be fairly major, is the noise from the bar at night. Our apartment overlooked the bar / pool area and we were disturbed by late night noise probably 1 in 3 nights of our 2 week stay. Although the official entertainment in the bar finished by 12/12.30, often groups of people would stay in the bar singing their own kareoke til 3 or 5am, which is not good when you have to get up early with kids!
So, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to early risers, which is a shame because everything else was good. Our 2 bed apartment was basic but had everything we needed. The resort is great, plenty of tavernas and shops but not overcrowed, and the small beach is lovely - very child friendly.
Ben and Wotzi

Finas - not as Fin-as i hoped
I stayed at the Finas Apartments with my mum and her partner and was all that impressed with them. Our apartment had paint falling from the window and door frames, the beds were rickety.
I admit the pool area and reception was clean as were the rooms but i wouldnt recommend this hotel. It thoroughly deserves the 2star rating it has been given. Rhodes is a beautiful island and despite the problems with the hotel i still had a good time.
Found the perfect place on a Greek island. Not too noisy but not dead either.Went September 14 to 28 2005.
Lovely beach clear,warm water.
Stayed at Finas Hotel very clean and comfortable. Huge patio, good shower. Entertaiment not great but good tavernas within 10 minutes walk.
Best clocktail bar Rock Garden.3 euros for superb cocktail briliantly presented.
Best taverna Philosophia on rocks overlooking beach. Stunning views. Romantic music and great food. Friendly but not intrusive staff. Bit pricier than the norm but well worth the extra. This is a must visit taverna.
Don't hire a car from Marathon. When car broke down owner extremely rude and arrogant demanding that we pay for a new gear box-not likely.
So good booked for next year. Anyone been to Yiota appartments ?

Not too impressed
When me and my family went to Rhodes our first impressions was this is going to be a good holiday. Our appartment was basic but clean. The pool is small and full with chlorine. If the pool is too much for you i recomend you go down to the beach. If you stay at the hotel at night football would be on and everyone's chair would be facing the tv. The food is good value and the drinks are very expensive.

Along this path we could here someone sawing down trees and before arriving at the cave we were met on the path by a ...

Back to the hotel to sit and read in the shade. Wifi eventually back online at 1.30pm. Must be nearly lunchtime.
We settled for the snack bar but Barry got sidetracked and ordered flatbread from the lady in the carpet corner. I finished my beer in the time it took her, but Barry must have been impressed because he gave her a tip!

They got the lifts going again fairly swiftly but wifi was out for the day. After the downpour we walked up to the old village which was much quieter but more run down. They really do have chickens in all the back yards. After our stroll we had an hour in the sun by the pool then it was waffle time. ...
