... on my head while I push my overloaded iron lady through near-empty streets, my sweaty and rained upon head trying to make an owl`s turning, trying hard to take it all in. The omnimous darkness of the thunderstorm as yet awaiting me ignoring, I look for a small bar for lunch...back to tasteless Polish froth that the locals gobble down like it is a bowl of Red Wine with the fermented grapes still floating atop but I myself find ...
Torun, Central Poland, Poland farang020... square, you can also find the Town Hall with a tower that you can climb and see a panorama of the city and of the whole region with its river, sand, small hills and pine forests.
Obviously, right in the centre of the city, there is a house in which Mikołaj Kopernik used to live; it's now converted into a museum. Another interesting thing to see is a Gothic cathedral, unfortunately a bit overpriced, and closed most of the time. Strangely enough, Toruń ...

Torun is gorgeous. Like Gdansk but more so. More of the older churches, cobblestone streets, medieval walls … No hostels near the old town so I stay at a hotel from the 19th century. Pretty outside, character but basic inside. This is the first town that I have seen a public WIFI service. Yeah! The flood of blog will begin.
I am starving. No lunch yet again. I am not sure if I have yet to have 3 meals in a day. Too much going on. I ...
... about his hometown is the reason I decided to go. It's a small city (about 200,000 people live there) but it has another fantastic Old Town and churches, churches and more churches. Most of Poland is quite religious but my flatmate told me that there is a religious radio station and TV station and both are broadcast from Torun. The churches in Torun seem to be mostly red brick structures but they are massive. They almost seem to be more like ...
Torun, Central Poland, Poland eileenj... I didn't find any youth hostel in the centre (I've learn afterwards, that there was one...but not in my guide, but foundable in internet), so I staid in one of the hostel...5 times more expensive than the regular youth hostel...ups. But it worthed it, because I had time to see the center the evening and the morning before continuing my trip.
Gniezno, Poland lelaulau... They assure that they'll finish cleaning/organizing the second grave. We give kiss's and get the invitration to come by anytime for tea and pastries. Dad and I go back to the car where it suddenly dawns me, I never took a picture of her and her son. Hmm.. After contemplation, I decide to run back and snap a pick of them. No really, when will I see them again. They were both pleased as punch that I double backed to take a picture of them.
Lipno, Poland kasia-waw... a protest against the order's economic restrictions. There wasn't much to see except a pile of bricks and a sign saying that once the castle was torn down it was used as rubbish dump, but nonetheless it gave us the opportunity to explore a little more of the city. Later on we visited the huge cathedral, picked up some gingerbread and had a look around another part of the city before hitting a restaurant and few pubs for another night out. I think I was probably the ...
Torun, Poland will... 4 people in 2 different countries in Skype for 40 euro cents. Called them out of thin air! Ah how technology never ceases to amaze me. So we come to now, where I am sitting in my quaint little room at a hotel called Petit Fleur (oh and by the way, never open their website in a public space, say on a laptop in a beer garden, or else insanely loud cheery french music - like the beginning of 'Allo 'Allo - will blare out at you and everyone else within a 50m radius), enjoying more ...
Torun, Poland baggagewhores... open. A hostel not hotel. My aim was to walk around the old town and explore it. There are some beautiful buildings and I found myself photographing them before reading about their history such as the fish building brightly coloured next to the town hall. I walked down some side streets and bought some fruit in one place. Back to the hotel to get my bag and walk to the train station along less well built almost ugly streets. I must have always been ...
Torun, Poland sarahbooth... German influence) where Copernicus grew up. It was amazing for me to discover that Pete actually is a basketball player. In fact he dribbles, shoots, jumps really high, gets fouled, takes foul shots, makes them, has fans, a coach, teammates, cheerleaders, etc. You know, you can hear about someone's life all you want, but you never really get it until you see it in person. I feel very fortunate that I got to see Pete in action, doing what it is he does ...
