This morning we are at Cochem (pronounced Cockem) on the Moselle River, having arrived at 10:00pm last night. In German it is the River Mosel but in English and French it is the Moselle River. The source of this river is in the Vosges Mountains in the Alsace (France), flowing towards the northeast until it becomes the border between Luxembourg and Germany at Schengen. Three small rivers join the Moselle close to Trier in Luxembourg before it begins ...

At this point there is a massive equestrian statue of Kaiser Wilhelm I on Memorial of German Unification. ... in WWII. We had a bit of shopping time in the Easter market. Me and Jeff split a pretzel and walked around. We found a store selling Christmas ornaments and ran inside with much jubilation. Jeff picked one out and we made it back to the group in time. A very long four hour bus ride to Bacharach. I slept and I saw Jeff zonked out in the back too. As soon as we got our bags in the room we headed down ...

... 2-3 hours it was pleasant riding. The cycle paths were all along side the main roads as there is much were else to put them. There are vines being grown up all the valley sides wherever there is a spare piece of topsoil. The guesthouse/hotel is nice and the owners made us an evening meal. I had the homemade ravioli whereas the two carnivores went for the chicken and rump ...
