Male, North Male Atoll, Kaafu Atoll, Maldives, 510030
... whole next day I was feeling weak and tired. I felt neauseous at the mere thought of food. So my husband decided to explore the island all by himself. He walked around the whole island in an hour. Yes, that man is crazy about long walks! Not me!! Later in the day we called a doc. He said it is b/c the climate change that is getting to me. He gave me meds. By evening was feeling capable of getting out of the room. So we went for a walk along the beach ...
Male, Kaafu Atoll, Maldives ivjtravelertaleThe week on the boat went so fast, I can't believe it. The typical dive day starts at 6 am with a small breakfast, the first dive briefing is at 6.30 and we were normally in the water by 6.45 for our first dive of the day. We did 3-4 dives every day and between the diving we cruised between the Maldivian atolls, changing dive sites. In our week we visited North Male Atoll, South Male Atoll, Ari Atoll and Baa atoll. We saw a lot of TMS (typical ...
Male, Maldives psykokristin... visibility. In water that was about a mile deep. And quite rough too. Happy days. Our Dive Instructor for the day jumped in first, decended to 5 metres to wait for us, me ...
Male, Maldives adrian.gfc... stay for another 10 minutes intrigues me. To me, I can just imagine these are the teen dolphins trying to get an extra adrenaline rush in before dinner and their moms are off 50 miles away, saying come on guys. Well, I digress, but all in all the last 9 days on Intrepid have been great and I am so glad I took the plunge and added this adventure to my round the world ticket (or, used it as an excuse to do one big RTW trip before age 30!). Sitting up front on the bow and ...
Arabian Sea, Maldives amerikiwiPretty good day, excursion was a 45 minute submarine look at coral, fish, and eels. I chose this excursion to simulate the view you get from scuba diving, since we'll never scuba dive. It was okay, but there was an awful lot of waiting around and boat riding for the 20 minutes we got to sit in front of the coral--the other side of the sub got the other 20 minutes. We also walked along the waterfront in Maldive, which was even more interesting. The country is wealthy and ...
Male, Maldives cynjohn... which was the 28th, we boarded a sea plane (after waiting for almost 2 hours.....it is now island time). The flight was beautiful as we flew over many atolls. The water colour is fantastic. Our resort is beautiful....our villa is spectacular....our own plunge pool and outdoor bath and shower. The day was spent unpacking and getting footing around the island. The reefs have lots of fish and live corals. We then headed off to a sandy ...
Chao.
Male, Maldives ptorrealbag... is learning material that they will not cover in Wakefield until next March or April - at least in math(we received the math books from Wakefield on Thursday). So, even though she is aware of this, she is determined to know the material so she is not behind in the class here. She has made another Sri Lankan friend and they work together on math. Given that the rest of the day is Dhivehi, Islam, environmental science and only a little bit of english, we are working ...
Male, Maldives hendersonWow, my first trip to Asia. First of all I was not sure if it will not be boring, two weeks on an island, just one hotel and nothing else, no cars, no streets, no shops, no nothing, just you and the nature. We went there with LTU and from Male by boat to Embudu Village, our hotel island. It was amazing. There were not many guests, so everyone had a beach for himself. The whole day we were ...
Embudu Village, Maldives tilmanFinally check in at the dive base, after being sent away yesterday evening because we were too late (so Nadia was not able to do the morning dive :-P ). We are introduced to Patrick, the new Manta Rep, who arrived with the same flight as we had. He has to replace Corinne, who spent 6 months there. For different reasons, and maybe one important in particular, it was for ...
