Not bad waking up to the colors of sunrise right outside my window! Once again we were up and out early, this time on a guided tour of Manuel Antonio National Park, a park with rainforest and beaches. It is supposedly the second most visited park in the country, and I believe it! It was packed, at least on the main trail. There were oodles of guides each with their own group and really there were way too many people. But we've been used to lots of nature and not many people, so ...

We are staying at an amazing hotel called Rio Magnolia. Hotel? The word "hotel" cannot do any justice to the experience that is provided here at Rio Magnolia.

I'm sure that for some people staying here would not suit but I would defy anyone not to be in awe of what John and Maureen have created which is quite simply magnificent.

Small victory was that the bus went right the way through Tamarindo to Langosta and dropped us off basically outside the hotel. Then our ...

... putting it mildly. They had to go down 97 steps to get to their screened in octagonal hut. There was a private waterfall and natural waterfall pool, which was beautiful, but their location in the jungle meant they received no breeze. Colby and Sam verified it was hot that week.

But Colby and Sam were troopers. They arrived with smiles and Vivian and Ivy instantly fell in love with Sam (much to Colby's dismay). We had ...

... a break. They served fresh pineapple and watermelon as well as water and punch. The fruit here is sooo sweet and delicious.

At the beach we saw two macaws eating in the beach pecan trees but they are very good at concealing themselves. We tried several pictures but never could get the whole bird. While I walked along the beach, PJ, Joy & Kathy went swimming to cool off.

    On the ...
