On the drive down (which only takes about 45 minutes), Sophie nearly got us killed and then didn't take the last US exit so we ended up in the queue to drive across the border. Pat was being very stern with her, but she pulled off a maneuver which managed to get across about 100 lanes to the correct exit lane. She dropped us off at the footpath so we could walk across the border.

The officer who inspected our car and persons was a Brooklyn native, so it wasn't hard to sweet talked him into letting us off without a fine for cutting the traffic and using the express line. We got the green light (ahead of a pickup truck stacked 10 feet high with old furniture) and we got the F@*& out of Mexico.
